Rally Idrija was again very special event. As last event in slovenian rally championship and with already knowing some champions still bring amazing new stages and great battles between drivers.
Rok Turk and Blanka Kacin made all expectations and won event with win on all stages. From drivers with the best rally cars first retired Boris Požeg in Škoda Fabia R5 after he had accident on SS4.
Very fast this weekend was german driver Albert von Thurn und Taxis, who finished first time on second place overall.
Third finished crew Peljhan – Čar in Volkswagen Polo RN4, who finished also second in slovenian championship standings after Avbelj didn’t driving in Idrija.
Just 3.7 seconds behind on fourth place overall finished Hermann Gassner junior – Ursula Mayrhofer in Toyota GT86 CS-R3 and finished also third in slovenian championship section on this event.
First in FWD rally car (Peugeot 208 R2) finished local driver Martin Mlinar and finished second in division 2 after Gassner dominated on last four stages. Third in division 2 finished Martin Štucin – Gregor Maver in Renault Clio R3 Maxi.
First win in division 1 this season got Bojan Velkravrh – Nina Velkavrh Gorenc in Volkswagen Polo afer crew Božič – Praček retired right on last stage after leading. Second in division 1 finished young crew David Pivk – Tadej Rupnik, who won also in junior section.
Another fast young crew Nejc Mrak – Asja Plesničar finished third in their Suzuki Swift GTi Mk2.
On last event we got also champion in division 3. After crew Agnič – Verbič didn’t showed up on this event and Janko Aubreht – Mitja Aubreht had little off road moment on SS5, Vasja Miklavčič become champion in division 3. His second place on Rally Idirja was enough for title also in division 4.
Six seconds ahead Miklavčič finished crew Matic Humar – Nika Jereb, who also won first time in this season, third firnished Aubreht – all in Renault Clio RS.
Maybe new stages are what drivers and spectators needs in Slovenia for good show and close battles!
