Yesterday, on second day of Lavanttal Rallye in Austria, was again great battle for podium places. On dry surface were fast also Wagner’s brothers, so four drivers were just in few seconds gap on almost all stages.
Battle for win finished on SS7, where Mayr-Melnhof lost more than one minute. In battle for second place were than three drivers, just few seconds seperated them. Julian and Simon Wagner won on one special stage each, Mayr-Melnhof won on four and Neubauer won on sixt special stages.
Hermann Neubauer (Ford Fiesta R5) won event without any problems, but second place decided on last special stage. Julian Wagner (Škoda Fabia R5) beat Niki Mayr-Melnhof (Ford Fiesta R5) with just 2.7 seconds. Simon Wagner (Škoda Fabia R5) finished on fourth place overall.
On fifth place overall finished Kristof Klausz in another Škoda Fabia R5 and won also in Mitropa Rally Cup section. Second finished Rok Turk (Hyundai i20 R5) and Gergely Fogasy (Ford Fiesta R5) on third place.
In Mitropa Historic Rally Cup won Gerhard Openauer with almost three minutes ahead Rino Muradore, both in Ford Escort RS 2000. Third finished Arpad Merencsics in Suzuki Swift GTI mk1.
