Already on first stage yesterday we lost leader from first leg. Neuville had suspension failure on his Hyundai i20 WRC and had to retired after stage. Ogier took the lead, but just for one stage. On next stage he broke steering arm on his Ford Fiesta WRC.
On his luck he managed to repair it and he won on next 20.37 kilometers long stage. But on SS11 made a mistake and went off the road. Also Lappi went off road on SS10, when he was on sixth position overall.
Drama continued. At first, Al-Rajhi’s Fiesta caught fire on SS11 and then fire just continued into forest – stage was stopped.
Fire caught also Breen’s Citroen C3 WRC on road section to SS12. Car was burned to the end.
Also new leader after SS10, Andreas Mikkelsen, didn’t have luck. He lost about three minutes and got also latenest penalty due technical failure on his Hyundai i20 WRC. He is now on P5.
After thirteen stages is now on lead Tanak (Toyota) with 13.1 seconds ahead Latvala (Toyota) and with more than minute ahead Paddon (Hyundai).
