More and more manufacturer teams went out of World Touring Car Championship (WTCC), so organizators had to made some progress in future.

On other side, more and more teams went into TCR International Series (TCR), where drivers and teams can compete in national and international championships.

New championship, which will be merged from both biggest touring championships, will be named World Touring Car Cup (WTCR). It was published already provisional calendar for season 2018:

7/8 April: Marrakech – Morocco
28/29 April: Hungaroring – Hungary
10/12 May: Nürburgring – Germany
19/21 May: Zandvoort – Netherlands
23/24 June: Vila Real – Portugal
4/5 August: Termas de Rio Hondo – Argentina
29/30 September: Ningbo – China
27/28 October: Suzuka – Japan
15/18 November: Macau – Macau

An additional event will be added on either 21-22 July or 6-7 October.

We got also new TCR champions in that three seasons of existing:
2017 – Jean-Karl Vernay (Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR)
2016 – Stefano Comini (Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR)
2015 – Stefano Comini (Seat Leon Cup Racer)

There were made many of new touring cars from Seat Leon, Honda Civic, Volkswagen Golf to Opel Astra, Peugeot 308, Ford Focus, Subaru WRX, Alfa Romeo Giulietta, Kia Ceed’s, Audi RS 3 LMS,…
With main world international championship were made many other national championships in Italy, Spain, Germany, Great Britain, China,…and other international championships in Europe, Asia, USA, 24h series,…
