3. Rally Železniki 2016 – review

3. Rally Železniki was third destination for Slovenian Rally Championship.

There was 38 crews on start, just 26 crews saw finish line after nine stages around Železniki city.
Already on first stage was retired Martin Štucin and Marko Grossi on SS3, favorits in Division 1, where won third time Martin Mlinar with MG ZG 105. Second was Čebron, third Pozvek, both with the same car as winner.

Without big changes in this season was the winner in Division 2 Rok Turk (Peugeot 208 VTi R2) and Aleš Zrinski in Division 3 (BMW M3).

More interesting fight was in overall classification. Majerčak (Ford Fiesta R5) from Slovakia was favorit for the overall win, but mistake (too early entry in time control) had put him down on fifh place overall.
Fourth was Peljhan (Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX), who was winner in Velenje. Third overall was Turk.

Humar (Renault Clio RS R3T) and Novak were showed another great battle in this season. When Majerčak lost two minutes because of mistake, Novak (Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X) took the lead, but Humar with was faster on last three stages and got overall win with 7.7 seconds.
